PCA Class
Approved by the Department of Medical Assistance Services. This course is a total of 40 hours and includes home-based training. The course teaches the student how to care for a patient in their home setting and includes such skills as:
- Measuring and Recording Vital Signs
- Promoting Independence, Self-Care and use of Assisted Devices
- Assistance with ambulation and range
- of motion
- Infection Control
- Providing Personal Care
- Prevention of Pressure Sores
- Pallative Care
Course length: 40hrs
Price: $99 for class + $49 for materials
*Class will be on February 21, 22, 25, 26 and 27 from 8am to 5pm*
Tuition does not cover:
- Uniforms- White scrub top over black scrub pants
- Non-skid shoes
- Sturdy watch with second hand
- CPR Course- $50 (unless you provide proof of certification)
- Fee for state exam (if applicable)

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The class offers a State accredited and licensed Nursing Assistant course. Nursing Assistant courses are offered throughout the year by our Continuing Adult Education Program. The course is a total of 135 hours with facility based clinical training. Our course teaches:
- Restorative Care
- Measuring Vital Signs
- Positioning and Transferring
- Personal Care
- Protecting Patients Rights
- Chronic Illnesses
- Care of Patients with Cognitive Impairment
- End of Life Care

- Legal and ethical issues in medication management
- Clients rights regarding medications and treatment decisions
- Key pharmacology terms
- Basic guidelines for medication administration
- Storing and securing medications
- Special issues in medication administration
